FREE ROOMS FOR MARY & JOSEPH THIS CHRISTMAS AT TRAVELODGE

No room at the inn? Not this year. To evoke the true spirit of Christmas, Travelodge is opening its doors and offering couples called Mary and Joseph a free night's stay; at any one of its 322 UK hotels.

The 'gift' of a free night's stay is to make up for the hotel industry not having any rooms left on Christmas Eve over 2000 years ago when the original 'Mary and Joseph' had to settle for the night in a stable.

Today's Mary and Joseph will stay in a spacious Travelodge family room which can also cater for a baby and a manger. A free car-parking space will be provided for the donkey and there are plenty of £29 rooms available for the Shepherds and Wise Men to book. The couple can stay anytime from Christmas Eve to the Twelfth Night.

Jason Cotta, Travelodge Operations Director, said: "The phrase no room at the inn is something that resonates with us in the hotel business. Therefore this year we have decided to evoke the true spirit of Christmas and invite Mary and Joseph as our guests."

To claim their free Travelodge night's stay, Mary and Joseph just need to register their details at: Christmas@travelodge.co.uk. They will be asked to send proof of ID. Upon receipt of the requested information a voucher will be sent to them to use between Christmas Eve and Twelfth Night

Comfort Zone

Last night, we went to a Christmas party for Encounter Church. It was really fun to sit around with a bunch of friends, and reminded me of the good ole' days of Newsprings. I miss that church and the people so much! I feel like I hit a milestone as a mom, because it was the first time that Sadie was passed around the room and I didn't feel nervous about where she was or who had her. I have always sais that it is amazing how babies bring people together and it was so sweet to see how people that barely know her already love her so much!

Sadie may have been too comfy with the crowd though. When Margo was holding her, they were dancing a little together and Sadie barfed all down the front of Margo's neck and shirt. Margo thought it was funny, and said "Oh, it's just baby."

At what age does it become not okay to barf on people? Better yet, when is it not cute to toot or burp in public? All I know is that I still laugh my butt off every time Sadie lets out a burp that could rival a frat boy!

Traditions

Brian and I are excited to start our Christmas traditions as a family this year. One thing we have already started is getting a new family ornament every year. On Christmas Eve, I am planning to cook a big breakfast with pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Of course, Sadie won't be able to eat it, but it will be fun to sit down as a family for our first Christmas Eve together.

Next year, we will each open one present on Christmas Eve and watch a movie. Brian and his family always had a "camp out" in the living room, which I think is pretty cool! Then, of course, we will open presents on Christmas day! We will more than likely read the Christmas story that morning too.

I can't wait until next year when Sadie is older and can participate more! There are so many things I can't wait to do with her!

Resiliance

I think my Sadie Bug is going to have a strong personality just like me.

This excites and scares me. I know she will be passionate and determined, but I also know that she will always want to do things her way and get mad when she can't.

Case in point:

Sadie does not want to nap during the day, especially when daddy is home. She is so scared that she is going to miss out on something, that she will jar herself awake every few minutes so that she can be a part of the party. She has become so resilient that she will cry when we put her down to sleep, but fall asleep as soon as we cuddle her! It is quite flattering, but Sadie gets so tired, that she just fusses. We have read that it is normal for babies to fuss during the evening until 3-4 months, but I feel bad for Brian because Sadie and I have so much fun during the day!

We are going to let her nap in the pack and play when he is here so that she can see us, but she hasn't gone for it yet. If we take her out and put her on the couch next to us, she falls right asleep. I don't get it - it is only a three foot difference!
